Message from Mr Williams, Head
Dear Parents,
The last newsletter of this academic year seems to have come around very quickly: I can’t quite believe that we have reached the summer holiday. The last few days have been a whirl of evening activities, celebrations and goodbyes. We saw a wonderful Secondary production of Shrek the Musical on Tuesday; on Wednesday all of Year 6 enjoyed their graduation, and last night we said farewell and good luck to colleagues who are leaving us.
The end of term is always a time to reflect and look back over the past year. It has been the first school year without additional COVID rules in place. It is the first school year with students taking their A Level exams. It is the first school year where all students, from age 3 to 18, became members of a school house and the school has been the fullest it has ever been. I am so proud of all students and staff for their dedication and hard work and am already excited for the new school year. Over the summer I am looking forward to sharing another set of excellent examination results and also to letting you know where in the world our Year 13 cohort will be attending university.
If you are leaving us this summer then I would like to say a huge thank you for everything that you and your family have brought to GES. Our community goes from strength to strength and it was wonderful seeing everyone come together last Saturday at the Summer Fair. Please stay connected through our social media pages – Twitter @geschoolnews, Facebook , Instagram. We would love to hear from you and see what you are up to.
Finally, a massive thank you to our colleagues who are leaving this summer. Each person, whether they have been part of the team for a short time or for many years, has made their own contribution to GES. One of the key things which makes GES so special is the adults that work here. Thank you.
We are looking forward to seeing children at the summer camps taking place over the next two weeks. During the holiday, the office hours are between 9:00 and 15:00.
Have a wonderful holiday and we will see you for an exciting new academic year on Thursday 24 August.

Pupil's success
Noah Jordan in Year 3 competed in the Finale Régionale de la “RSR KIDS” last Sunday in Lausanne. He was one of 20 to have qualified.
He came 2nd in the relay, 3rd in front crawl (44.28 seconds) and 6th in backstroke (52.19 seconds)
4th boy in his age group overall.
Well done Noah!
Recommendations for the Summer
Reading Challenge, from Mrs Vavrecka
We hope you will continue to enjoy reading for pleasure over the summer holidays by completing these challenges!
Happy reading and happy holiday!
French resources and passports
In the “Languages” section of My School Portal, you can find a whole range of resources, reading recommendations and also our GES French Language Passports, aimed at KS1 to KS4 students.
Created by the French teachers, the passports are packed with a range of resources and activities specific to each age group across the school.
We encourage our current students to use all those resources to extend and consolidate their learning during the summer break.
Bonnes vacances à tous!
