Message from Mr Williams, Headteacher

Dear Parents,

This last newsletter of the school year is one of ‘thank yous’. Firstly, a massive thank you to all the parents who provided food and drink for the staff celebration breakfast at Secondary and lunch at Primary. The food was delicious and the staff were overwhelmed with the time and effort so many of you put in. Thank you. Thank you also for the end of term cards and gifts that have been coming in over the week to staff across both campuses. The staff do not expect anything at the end of term but are very grateful for the generosity shown.

Thank you to all the parents this week who have helped make our end of term events special – the Year 13 and Year 6 graduation events, Beauty and the Beast and the Addams Family productions have all been made even more special by the effort you have put in. By the time this newsletter is sent, many of us will be enjoying the end of term picnic at the Primary school so thank you for the work that has gone into this.

Finally, we have a number of families and staff leaving us this summer and a massive thank you goes out to all of them – thank you for everything you have done to enhance our community and make it the special place that it is.

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer and I look forward to welcoming you back on Wednesday 28th August.

Best wishes,

Matt Williams

Year 6 Students Say Farewell to Primary

We were beaming with pride on Wednesday at the Year 6 graduation which, despite a sudden storm opening up the skies, was a very successful and moving event. Receiving prizes for a number of different subjects and the accolades of their teachers for how much they have grown and progressed in their final year of Primary, our students also enchanted all those present with a beautiful song about growing up and starting an exciting new step in their lives.

Two Songbirds at Primary

Congratulations to Niamh (Year 6) and Orla (Year 5) for their excellent results in their Music Teachers’ Board singing exams.

Both of them received a Distinction for their Grade 1 exam!

First Prize for Our Dance Champion

We are immensely proud of our Year 5 student, Emma Graber, whose dance team delivered a fantastic performance at the Genoa International Dance Competition last weekend. With 179/200 points, their dance “High Energy” won first prize in the Choreographic Composition/Dance Show kids category.

Scoring only one point less for their dance “Wake Up”, they also came in second place!

Well done, Emma!

From the Secondary School

Congratulations, Year 13!

It was with much emotion and pride that we had our Year 13 students and their families join us at our Primary campus for a graduation event last Friday.

With some of them having been in our school since Primary, our graduating students will leave lasting memories with all of us. We wish them all the very best of happiness and success for their future and are sure they will continue to carry the values of our school wherever their paths take them.

Stunning Performance of The Addams Family

After many months of intense rehearsals, our Secondary thespians staged the much-awaited Addams Family at the Espace Culturel de Genthod. It was nothing short of fantastic and they all charmed the audience with their perfect recreation of all those beloved characters whose eccentricities and outlandishness make them so endearing.

Rolling Around the Lake for Year 10 and 11

Our intrepid Year 10 and 11 adventurers had their Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition this week. Cycling all the way around Lac Léman, they showed inspiring resilience, courage and teamwork in this journey of discovery which took them by some of the lovelier sights around the lake.

Travelling across ground which was, at times, water-logged or very hilly, they persevered and made it back with fond memories of their trip.

Stepping Into the Shoes of a Teacher

Two of our Year 9 students, Fali and Rameesah, took the initiative to plan and deliver their final Maths lesson of the year! Both of them did a tremendous job and their peers and teacher were very impressed by their preparation and attention to detail.

Well done!
