Message from the Head

Dear Parents,

As we enter the last three weeks of term there are so many events and activities happening across the school that your inbox must be bursting with invites and plans!

We have residentials at Primary, activity week and work experience at Secondary, the production of Grease and transition mornings for Year 5 and 6 taking place as well as final assessment week at Secondary. That’s not all, so please check your emails, your communications from your Class Reps and especially the calendar on My School Portal (best viewed without filters). It is updated and shows all the events so you have an easy place to find information. I am looking forward to seeing you at these events over the next few weeks.

On Tuesday we had the EYFS and KS1 Sports Day and Wednesday saw our Rising Stars concert – both events were such a success and it was lovely to see the students excel both in sports and the arts.

Next week brings Primary Parent Teacher meetings to discuss the past year of learning, we have the AGM on Monday at 20:00, on Tuesday Year 10 parents have an information session about university application processes and Science options, we have an Early Years/Primary Open morning on Wednesday and Year 5 parents and students are coming to Secondary on Thursday morning!

And don’t forget to buy tickets for the Parents and Alumni Event on Friday evening, 24 June – we would love to see as many of you as possible there for a relaxing evening – for which, I have just been told, there is also a competition on one of our Social media channels.

Have a great weekend,

Matt Williams
Head

FROM YOUR TEACHERS

Rising Stars performance, by Mrs Humphreys (Head of Primary Music)

A huge congratulations to the children who performed in the GES Rising Stars 2022 concert on Wednesday evening.

We enjoyed outstanding performances from the KS1 recorder club, the choir, the orchestra and our GES street dancers.

These were followed by Years 5 and 6 Performing Arts Club, who performed their own show, ‘Magical Movies.’

A great evening was had by all!

Pupils' success

All of this in less than 40 minutes – Congrats to all – you are an amazing group!

Library Books reminder, from Mrs Wiesendanger

Please could pupils make sure to return all French and English library books on Monday, 13 June so that we have time to control the inventory before the end of term.

We would be particularly grateful if this could be done before pupils leave on Residentials or start Activity Week (starting 20 June).

With thanks for all your help,

Mrs Wiesendanger

Theatre recommendations, from Mrs Ball (Head of Drama and Performing Arts)

We very much hope that you have pencilled in the GREASE performance of our Secondary PA Club for Monday, 27 June at the Salle de Spectacle de Genthod. We have heard some of the singing in the corridors and it sounded brilliant..

  • Salle de Spectacle, Genthod

Should you have time for more theatre, here is another recommendation from Ms Ball:
