From the Head
Dear Parents,
As we are approaching the midpoint of the school year this past week has seen all pupils at GES continue to work hard and enjoy their learning. China day in Nursery and Reception has been such a joyful experience and the children were brimming with excitement to share with me their learning and show off their costumes when I visited them this afternoon. What was even more impressive is that they were learning about China, in French! The bilingual nursery continues to grow and go from strength to strength. |

At Secondary this week the KS3 students have been sitting assessments in English, Maths and Science. These externally marked assessments allow us to track how the students are progressing and ensure that they are stretched, challenged and supported to do their best. We are introducing an extra set of parent-teacher-student meetings after half term so that we can talk through these assessments and what they show.
On Tuesday evening we held an A Level Open Event and next week on Wednesday 3 February we will hold a Whole School Virtual Open Day, with sessions across Early Years, Primary and Secondary. We would appreciate you spreading the word and passing on the details to your friends and contacts. Finally, I wanted to thank you for your support with helping keep the Primary pick up running smoothly this week. Please do continue to make sure that you don’t arrive before 15:15 so that we can keep the line flowing smoothly. Have a nice week-end! |
From your Primary School Council
This year, as we are unable to have a concert due to COVID, the Don du Choeur have decided to launch the project Opération lâche-moi les baskets.
The charity usually donates the money raised from their concerts to different countries all around the world to help to build and upgrade schools. This year they are helping people locally by donating trainers to children who do not have them via the society Vestiaire Social de Genève. The society donates clothing to over 5600 people each year.
Please make sure that the trainers you donate are in good condition, clean, and attached in pairs. They should be left by Monday 22 February (1st day after half-term) on the top step of the Primary Gym. Thank you to all of the people who will donate trainers (and we hope many do).
