Outstanding A Level results at Geneva English School
Along with hundreds of thousands of young people in the UK and worldwide, our Year 12 and 13 students received their A Level results last Thursday. Graduates from the A Level programme at GES have once again achieved excellent grades, giving them the key to university courses across the globe with the UK, Europe, North and South America featuring amongst the destinations chosen by the GES Class of 2024.
“Our A Level programme is going from strength to strength. Under the stewardship of Dan Crabtree, more than 35% of our graduates have confirmed places at Russell Group universities in the UK and all who chose to apply elsewhere in the world have been offered spots at their first choice destinations.”
Matt Williams, Headteacher
“Today’s success is a rich reward for the students’ work over the past two years. With the support and dedication of their A Level teachers at GES, every student is able to fulfill their academic potential and progress with confidence to ambitious global university destinations.”
Dan Crabtree, Head of the Key Stage 5 A Level programme
Best A Level Results in Geneva!
Grades A* and A are the benchmark for excellence at A Level. With 31% of our students scoring top marks, and 41% of all grades at A*-A, GES students scored 50% above results for A Level exam-takers in the UK and worldwide!
GES is a close-knit community and our success is based on the personal stories of individual students who trusted us with their education and their future. Here are just a few mentions worth celebrating:
Three of our graduating class this year are progressing to study at the University of Cambridge:
After outstanding results at GCSE, Clara progressed to A Level to combine her passion for Science and Humanities and achieved straight A* grades – the highest possible score – in A Level Biology, History and Maths. She is progressing from GES to read History and Politics at the University of Cambridge. Clara will be joined at Cambridge by other members of the A* club, Karlis who has been admitted to read the highly selective Economics course, and Harry who will read Land Economy at Sidney Sussex College Cambridge. Harry completed almost his entire education at GES having graduated from GES Primary in Genthod back in 2017.
After achieving an astonishing three A* and one A grade, Dylan plans to study Medicine at university following his success in A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. Dylan wanted to thank his A Level teachers at GES for their support and expertise in helping him deliver this stunning set of grades.
Tara thrived studying A Levels in English Literature, Geography and History at GES, another student to be awarded the A* grade, she will progress to study International Relations at her first choice institution in the UK, the University of Bath.
Ashot has really flourished during his time at GES since joining the A Level programme from his school in Armenia. His A grades in Economics, Maths and Physics take him on the next step in his journey to read Economics at the University of St Andrews in the UK.
Ben joined GES from a local school specifically for the A Level programme as it allowed him to specialise in those subjects in which he excels, and to expand his options for university study. Ben’s results in A Level Economics, French and Maths see him graduate to read Banking and Finance at the University of Cardiff while pursuing his love of mountain biking in the Welsh countryside.
On par with UK trends, Further Maths is increasingly popular at GES; this is some of the most advanced mathematics students can study before undergraduate level, preparing students to excel on Maths, Science and Engineering degree courses at highly selective universities. All students who chose this course achieved the highest grades, and will be progressing to university study at Cambridge, Bristol or University College London.
While we commend our students, both leavers in Year 13 and those who took AS Level exams in Year 12, for their hard work and resilience, we thank our teaching staff for their dedication in supporting and guiding our students’ learning and success.
