We provide an extensive range of activities at lunchtime and after school. Most of them are run by our enthusiastic staff members at no cost, and a few paid activities such as street dance, ballet, judo, playball or golf are taught by external teachers.

As the children progress through primary, we provide an increasing number of activities that cater for different interests and talents.

Activities help equip children with a range of important skills and attributes such as commitment, confidence, creativity and craftsmanship.

Here are a few examples of activities we offer at GES:

Sports

The Sports Academy offers GES students further opportunities to play organised team sports at school with the sports offered being coached by highly qualified GES staff and external coaches.

With this programme, we aim to provide opportunities for students from Year 3 in order to increase participation and skill development in sport and physical activity.

11+ and 13+ Exam preparation classes

This programme is designed for students in Years 5 or 6 who are looking to apply for independent or boarding schools in the UK for entry in Years 7 or 9. It is run by GES teachers who have extensive experience preparing students for these entrance exams.

The programme covers different parts of the written and computer-based examination and prepare students for tests that most schools use. In addition, mock interview practice (and other bespoke preparation expected of some independent schools) will be offered to support students with their applications.

Educational visits enhance the curriculum and add relevance and excitement to learning in real-life situations. They help children to build confidence and offer opportunities for collaboration outside the classroom.

As part of the curriculum, the children have the opportunity to visit sites of interest and culture such as the Juraparc, the Art and History Museum, the Natural History Museum, local caves, specific exhibitions, French theatres or the River Allondon.

Every year in June, from Year 3 onwards, children experience a residential trip (3 to 5 days long) which further develops their independence and confidence.
