With over 90% of our students taking part in Sports clubs at GES, we take great pride in offering a sports programme which caters for the needs of all our students regardless of ability, whilst maintaining sporting excellence and achieving high levels of success in competitions locally, nationally and internationally.
Our aim is to nurture and develop the physical abilities and talents of all children, allowing them to explore and enjoy sport in an environment in which they feel safe and confident. We encourage maximum participation and offer competitive sport for all abilities through internal and external competitions, tournaments and tours. At GES, we are proud to have one of the most robust and exciting sports programmes, providing an important balance between recreational and competitive sport and offering up to ten hours a week of organised sport in certain year groups. Our focus is to empower the athlete within, developing confidence and establishing resilience in all our students.
At GES we believe in the value of competitive sport and healthy competition. We run a range of teams at different levels and in a wide variety of sports for both boys and girls. We offer a strong pathway system which enables students to join sports clubs outside of school at the appropriate level.
Working closely with clubs across a wide range of sports enables our athletes to be recognized locally, nationally and internationally, enabling the students to develop their talent fully. Lunchtime, after-school and academy sessions allow the students to take part in regular competitive and recreational sport throughout the week.
